Hills Science Diet Dog Food

So, I took a look at little Wally the other day and noticed that he's not so Little around the belly. In fact, my husband has commented in recent months that from behind, he resembles a pot bellied pig.... not what I would consider to be a flattering comment. :(

Anyway, for those who don't know, I am a member or a site called BuzzAgent. My mom got me hooked on this site several years ago. BuzzAgent focuses on word of mouth advertising and, to acheive their goal, they invite members to try new products on a regular basis. Right now, I'm trying:

---Hill's Science Diet Dog Food (got a free bag and lots of coupons to hand out)
---Dove conditioner (got a free full size conditioner and several samples and coupons to hand out)
---CoverGirl Blast eye makeup and lip gloss (got free products and coupons to hand out)
---Got2b Smooth Operator hair product (still waiting to see what I'll get)

Wally and I are focused on the Hill's Science Diet Dog Food today. Since I have four dogs (two of which are small -- one skinny and one chunky).... AND since I had a free coupon for a small bag of dog food, I thought I'd check out the foods that Hill's Science Diet had to offer. On their website, Hill's Science Diet advertises four types of small and toy breed foods. One puppy food, one adult food, one mature adult food and one adult lite food.

Since everyone has been focused on Wally's mid section lately, I'm going to try the Adult Small and Toy Breed Light. The site says it tastes great and controls the weight.... I'll let Wally be the judge of that!

I'm planning to get a bag this week. :)

Wally's Story

Wally was a rescue. We got him at Petco last year. PAWS, a rescue group regularly brings animals to Petco for adoption.

We were actually looking for a small dog and had just come from PetSmart, which is where we got our other two rescues. A child was petting Wally when we came in. We thought he already belonged to someone. As it turns out, he didn't!

Wally wasn't what I would call an inexpensive dog. He cost a little over $200 to adopt.

While we were still at the store, my husband noticed that Wally's eye was watering a little. The lady processing the adoption said that it was nervousness and the new environment.

When we got him home, he seemed to be winking a lot as if the light hurt his eye. After a day of having him at in our house, it was obvious that he was not just nervous. Wally had an eye issue. We took him to the vet and found out that his eye was scratched. He was so little and his chihuahua eyes are so big that it likely happened during transport to Petco.

Sixty dollars later, we had some eye cream and instructions to put it in his eye twice a day. He looked so pitiful but, I kept following the vet's orders and, after a couple of weeks, our Wally was healed. He and I have been inseparable ever since!

He rarely barks. He is always ready to snuggle. And he has lots of love to give!

He stayed in the sun without much to say.
The rain came... and went away.
A quiet, quiet lazy day.

Until his friend picked up a stick.
And then his tail did wag quite quick.
He ran and jumped and began to play.
And thus did end a lazy day.

May 26, 2009 - Under attack!

An army has invaded the back yard. Lines of soldiers wearing exoskeletons have formed on the patio and they have only one thing on their mind... food. Wally watches as ants invade his bowl. They are too small to bite and they do not respond to barking or chasing. How will he and his friends, Split and Tonka, fight an enemy so well armed?

Memorial Day 2009

Wally the dog... cute, loving and fierce. In this blog, I will attempt to chronicle the adventures of this small but mighty chihuahua.

May 25, 2009 - Wally dog has been a part of the family for nearly a year. He is slow to rise this morning, giving me the "but I don't want to get out of bed" look. I feel his pain. It is Memorial Day. A holiday. A day to sleep late, remember our fallen soldiers and accomplish nothing of value. A vacation from work.

If only my husband would agree. Wally and I pretend to sleep but, at 7:45am, we can no longer hide our annoyance with those who have awakened early. Wally is forced from his bed by my loving hand. He shakes his head and stretches his back legs... first one, then the other. He is ready for a new adventure.

Today it rained... over and over again. The yard is full of muddy puddles. Birds seek cover as they dive to steal Wally's dog food. He is tired and does not chase them. Today is a lazy Wally day.

He watches as we put together the unusually complex, outrageously expensive basketball goal recently purchased for my stepson. Wally wonders why we are continuously adding things to the back yard and building new things. He looks at me, his head gently resting on his paws as if to say, "What was wrong with the other basketball goal."

After three hours in the rain, building the basketball goal, Wally concludes that we are out of our minds and sleeps.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring for Wally and his family. What memories will he build? What adventures will he have?
